The sun is shining and the build is flying. A lot has happened over the last few weeks, including getting the majority of the garage superstructure in place, the roof over the single-storey element and the beginnings of the first floor too. The feature walk with exposed glulam beams from hall to picture window, individual window openings, and the main downstairs living spaces are materialising. The windows and doors have been scheduled in for a June delivery date. The electrical plans are being drawn up for more information on the first fix and we're talking kitchens and blinds now!
The timber frame builder has been great so far and several tricky details have been resolved as we go: to help rationalise the design, making things simpler or as a result of other trades' bits not quite going to plan.
Super excited to see it progress over the next month or so, especially when the first floor rooms begin to take shape. The steelwork for that is partially in place and the next steps are to build out more of the timber frame in this area before the roofer can get the membrane on as soon as possible.
