We are execptionally proud to share one of our most recent completed projects: a new home that has been both a deeply personal journey for our client and for us as a practice. From the earliest sketches to the final detailing on site, this project has demonstrated true collaboration, built on trust, shared ambition, and a commitment to creating something unique.

The design embraces contemporary architectural principles based on the original design principles put forward by the late Geoff Thompson: clean lines, generous volumes, and a careful balance of openness and privacy. Large expanses of glazing frame views of the surrounding landscape, drawing natural light deep into the heart of the home. Materials were chosen not only for their performance but also for their character and longevity - hardwood adds warmth and texture to key spaces, slate brings depth and durability, and crisp white render creates a refined, modern backdrop that allows the house to sit confidently within its setting, mirroring its already-completed neighbour.

What makes this project particularly special is the personal investment from everyone involved. For the client, the home reflects a long-held aspiration, driven to complete a home that held intense meaning, and has yet evolved to incorporate the new sunroom (again, based on Geoff's original design). For us, it was an opportunity to push our own technical design thinking to deliver a house that lives up to Geoff's vision. Every decision was shaped through open dialogue between client and craftsperson, ensuring that the final result truly represents the original design philosophy.

Sustainability was also at the heart of the design process. High levels of insulation and considered solar orientation make the home energy-efficient and resilient for the future. We believe that contemporary living should not only provide comfort and beauty but also a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

Now complete, the house is more than just a building – it is a home that captures our client’s vision and our shared design ethos. We are immensely proud of this project and grateful for the collaborative spirit that brought it to life.
