We're pleased to share that planning has been submitted for this substantial remodelling of a bungalow property in one of the most desirable parts of Leamington Spa. MWArchitectural are partnering with our client to propose extensions to the front, side and rear along with a loft conversion. This was a complicated brief, constrained by various (ongoing) neighbouring developments as well as presenting a dual home/ work design challenge. It shall create a modern living environment and enable the proper split between spaces used for work and for rest.

The 60s chalet-style dwelling had a considerable footprint although divided up into unwieldy spaces. A key component of the new layout allowed a considered public to private spectrum given that strangers, friends and family members shall all be using the combined home and work areas. Existing roofscapes were respected with a projecting curved front extension at the same level as neighbouring properties while the rear extension aligns with the existing, visually dominant, pitched roof. Several rooflights were incorporated in both existing and new roofs (with the latter having vaulted ceilings) to ensure the substantial footprint retains high levels of natural daylighting throughout.
